Early Detection and Treatment are KEY. Screening Recommendations: Age 40 – For men at very high risk, such as those with more than one first-degree relative–a father, brother, or son — who had prostate cancer at an age younger than 65; Age 45 – For men at high risk, such as African American men and men with a first degree relative diagnosed at an age younger than 65; Age 50 – For men at average risk of prostate cancer, and who are expected to live at least 10 more years.
